Wrestling News for July 28, 2011

  • Former ECW valet and girlfriend of The Blue Meanie, Jasim St. Claire, is featured in the October issue of Hustler magazine.
  • The long awaited DVD that chronicles the Bret Hart and Shawn Michaels feud is due on October 25.
  • Shane Helms, there is an app for that at itunes.
  • Big Brother star Jessie Godderz has signed with Impact Wrestling. The former bodybuilder is being trained by the Dudley Boys.
  • Abdullah the Butcher is being sued by former Canadian wrestler Devon Nicholson who claims he contracted Hepatitis C after working a particularly bloody cage match with the WWE Hall of Fame wrestler. Nicholson claims that after Abdullah gigged him their blood "co-mingled" and Nicholson developed Hepatitis C which prevented him from realizing his dream of working for World Wrestling Entertainment. The lawsuit is asking for $6.5 million in damages including $40,000 each for a number of family members affected by Nicholson having Hepatitis C. Abdullah initially agreed to provide attorneys for Nicholson a blood sample for testing but wavered in doing so which prompted the lawsuit.
  • Jesse Neal announced, via Twitter, that he and girlfriend Christina Von Eerie are engaged. Just a note to Jesse, I am available to perform your ceremony and will do so gratis in exchange for trans.
  • Chris Hero and Claudio Castagnoli are said to be very close to signing with the WWE.
  • Mick Foley has said he is negotiating with the WWE about a return to the company.
  • The Big Show will be out for several months, again, in order to rest, heal and possibly lose weight.
  • The NWA World Championship will be decided this weekend at the Ohio State Fair when former champion Adam Pearce battles Chance Prophet and Shawn Tempers. Prophet would make a very interesting champion and he is the current National Heavyweight Champion. The NWA World Championship was vacated recently when the board stripped former champion The Sheik after he posted that he would not be appearing on the show July 31, 2011. Local promotions WAR, OWA, OCW and OVW will be represented at the show as well.
  • Former WWE star Al Snow will be appearing for NWA Bluegrass on August 2, 2011 at the Martin County Fair in Inez, Kentucky.
  • Bill Goldberg has dropped a lot of weight recently and you can see how he looks now here.
  • The CM Punk "Best in the World" t-shirt is now back ordered on WWEShop.com and is taking up to 30 days to be shipped.
  • The Hep-C Kid, Sean Waltman has posted a video of Billy Gunn laying out a match with some indie workers. It is said to all be in fun and to prove "that wrestling is fake" but what it really shows is how worthless Sean Waltman has become. The Hep-C kid is ranking up there with Ian Rotten right now.
  • Alberto Del Rio is still set to be the WWE Champion but it probably will not happen soon enough to benefit the WWE during their west coast swing. It is hoped that Del Rio will be able to draw in the Latino market but honestly, that way of booking has been dead since the 70s. There has been limited success with Rey Mysterio in that role but nothing like Bruno Sammartino, Antonnio Rocca or Pedro Morales.
